2014 K-Dramas Part 2

2014 K-Dramas Banner

With so many dramas out there are only a few that manage to grab me to an addiction state and others that are good enough to follow. That’s okay, as otherwise I will live only in front of my computer.

Here is another set of dramas that are worth the attention. This dramas hasn’t made me crazy addicted but are good enough to follow. So if you have time and are looking for dramas to watch check them out below.

[NOTICE: After the dramas are completed I will rate them on scala 1/10]

Inspiring Generation (5.5/10)

drama inspiring-generation

Genre: Action, Historical, Romance

Episodes: 24

Cast: Kim Hyun-Joong, Lim Soo-Hyang, Jin Se-Yeon, Song Jae-Rim, Kim Jae-Wook

Plot:  A story about love, friendship and patriotism of young Korean independence fighters in 1930’s Shanghai. Shin Jung Tae (Kim Hyun Joong) is a man that has an unconditional love for his country and family. During this tumultuous times and the struggles to survive Jung Tae become known as the best fighter in the alleys of Shanghai. What will be their future in China during such harsh times?

My thoughts: The drama has an interesting story and a lot of street and swords style fighting. SS501 Kim Hyun-Joong performance is amazing and you can see him transformed as a skilled fighter.

Sadly the drama production had many problems: the departure of the second male lead Kim Jae-Wook (because of his dislike to his character development), the sudden change of screenwriter halfway through the drama and the writing-out and then writing-in of Song Jae Rim. Still I would say, if you like a lot of action and fighting, this is a drama you should see.

Beyond the Clouds (4/10)

drama Beyond-the-Clouds_poster

Genre: Romance, Action, Drama

Episodes: 16

Cast: Yoon Kye Sang, Han Ji Hye

Plot: A story of a fate between a man, who lost his father and his life was destroyed by a gun shot over stolen diamonds in Thailand, and a woman, who lost her fiancé. Living as a swindler and bent on revenge until he meets and falls in love with the former fiancée of the man he was accused of killing. With their lives fates entwined, can they overcome their tragic pasts and learn to forgive and love?

My thoughts: It is a drama with the typical man’s revenge and love struggle. The drama didn’t really manage to grab me but I do enjoy watching the performance of Yoon Kye Sang of the legendary Korean pop group G.o.d (지오디). If you like revenge based dramas you should check it out.

Cunning Single Lady  (3.5/10)

drama CunningSingleLady_Poster

Genre: Romance, Comedy

Episodes: 16

Cast: Joo Sang Wook, Lee Min Jung, L

Plot: After her divorce, Na Ae Ra dreams of meeting a man like Prince Charming, but her plans usually fail. One day, she learns that her ex-husband has become wealthy businessman and she tries to seduce him back, while her ex-husband tries to date her again to get revenge. Will they rekindle their romance or find new love?

My thoughts: This is a nice sweet romance comedy that will lighten your mood. With scheming and love triangles, funny bickering and revenge plans all shown in a comedy way to make you laugh. And of course enjoying watching Joo Sang Wook, and fresh faces like Infinite‘s L and Seo Kang-Joon.

I like the variety in theme plots that the networks are providing. Also it seems that there is a trend as you see a lot of fresh new young faces or pop idols trying on acting, which would be happy news for all their fans. I am finding myself becoming a fan of B1A4 Baro as he did amazing in “Reply 1994” and now he is achieving even more challenging the role of mentally ill boy in “God’s Gift – 14 Days”.

So, do you already have a drama you like?
