Upcoming SBS historical drama “Six Flying Dragons” has released four of the ‘flying dragons’ character stills.

“Six Flying Dragons” has a formidable cast with Yoo Ah In, Shin Se KyungKim Myung Min, Byun Yo HanYoon Gyun Sang and Cheon Ho Jin. The drama is a prequel to “Tree With Deep Roots”, and tells  the story of the path to rise of King Taejong. The grand project, amazing cast and it being a prequel to another great drama, adds great excitement for the project.

The production released character stills giving us a peak at the six charismatic ‘dragon’ leads. The dragons are identified as the six most prominent characters in the drama.

Yoon Kyun Sang as the warrior Mu-Hyul, who becomes Joseon’s foremost swordsman and head of King Taejong (Yoo Ah In)’s guard.

Byun Yo Han as the warrior Ddangsae, who’s on the opposite side protecting Jung Do-Jeon (Kim Myung Min), the political foe of King Taejong.

Shin Se Kyung will play Ddangsae’s younger sister and Taejong’s love interest. Most of the characters in the drama are historical figures, but hers is one of the few fictional ones.

Kim Myung Min as Jung Do-Jeon, who helped King Taejong’s father set up the Joseon nation and was a key figure in founding its establishing principles. His ideologies put him at odds with Lee Bang-Won/King Taejong, making them political foes in “Six Flying Dragons”.

Chun Ho Jin as King Taejo (Lee Seong-Gye), the founding monarch of the Joseon dynasty and father to Lee Bang Won/King Taejong.

Yoo Ah In as the young and ambitious son of the king, Lee Bang-Won (later King Taejong), with sights on the throne. He is known as a controversial king, bloodthirsty and executing many of his supporters and family members to claim the throne. In the stills Yoo Ah In is shown as a dark warrior, so it brings the question if the drama will stick to the historical facts or present him in a softer light, as a misunderstood character.
