Upcoming SBS drama “Goodbye Mr. Black” confirmed cast leads with Lee Jin Wook, Moon Chae Won and Song Jae Rim.
The three of them will lead this revenge melodrama, which is based on an old ‘Count of Monte Cristo’-inspired manhwa. The story revolves around Mr. Black who wants to take revenge on a friend who betrayed him, and while working on his plan and looking for the truth he rediscovers love and humanity.
Lee Jin Wook plays Cha Ji Won (Mr. Black), a Navy Seal Team member that conducts underwater demolition missions, who is cruelly betrayed by his best friend and loses everything. He seeks revenge and enters into a fake marriage with Moon Chae Won’s character Swan, to hide his identity. Swan’s bright personality helps him heal his emotional wounds and fall in love. Song Jae Rim plays Seo Woo Jin, a handsome man with brilliant mind, CEO and editor-in-chief of a publishing company who will join their team, believing in the power of masses over the power of the law to get justice.
UPDATE: The production has just confirmed that Kim Kang Woo will join the cast, and he will be playing the director of a resort. Actress Yoo In Young also confirmed to join the cast and will play the lead’s first love, who marries his enemy.
The drama is directed by veteran SBS PD Lee Chang Min (“Giant”, “Midas”), with screenwriter Moon Hee Jung (“Missing You”, “Can You Hear My Heart”), who will adapt the original manhwa story into the drama.
“Goodbye Mr. Black” still doesn’t have a confirmed scheduled air time.
