‘Descendants of the Sun’ sparks new trend in tourism

Current hit drama “Descendants of the Sun” creates new trend by sparking international and local tourism.

Korean travel agencies are reported to be receiving many inquiries about tour programs to the drama’s fictional country ‘Uruk’ beautiful locations, which were filmed in Greece, as well as Korean cities Taebaek and Paju.

Especially popular is the Navagio Beach in Zakynthos, one of Ionian Islands in Greece, with a famous shipwreck vessel from 1980 that sits on the sand, where Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo‘s characters enjoyed a sweet date.

It seems dramas power extends and can have a huge impact on culture and iconomics, by sparking trends with its buzz.
